AR Resonance - First Aid Comparison Tests - Paolo Trettel
Переглядів 3,5 тис.Місяць тому
All the tests are performed PLAYING WITHOUT ADJUSTING the intonation of the harmonics as we normally do. We know any trumpet can be bent to play in tune, but this will be at the expense of tone and blowing consistency. The First Aid aims to eliminate these problems once and for all. In order for the Fìrst Aid to work the player will have to find it's ideal spot which changes depending on the ki...

If you ever wondered how Wayne Bergeron could sound on AR Resonance trumpets and mouthpieces here’s a quick recap of the tests he did during the Make It BRASS Festival in Luxembourg. No, Wayne is not changing horns or mouthpieces, he was just SUPER kind to me 😉 www.arresonance.com resonancesrl@gmail.com

When I saw this, I thought he must be lipping those down, especially on a pro horn. However, I tried on all of my trumpets to make a conscious effort not to lip them into tune, and they actually do play naturally quite a bit flatter and flatter going up C-G-C-E. I guess I'll just have to try for myself to see if it makes a difference. I will say though that it did seem like he was backing off as he went up the sequence with the first aid whereas he was blowing right through without the first aid? I'm sure this would exaggerate the contrast in intonation as well
The hardest part of understanding the First Aid is letting go of so much automatism in fixing notes that are naturally so out of tune. In another video of mine I'm actively forcing notes to the place of maximum resonance regardless of how out of tune they need to be. So, in those cases (and just in those cases), I'm not buzzing the right pitch (like Paolo is instead doing in this video), but rather the pitch that maximizes the effect. This is the right strategy to feel what is the real tendency of the instrument, which is the right approach to find how much we normally have to correct the horn. Once we play that way we can feel how much the First Aid can fix the resonant frequency of each harmonic. This helps speeding up the process of finding the perfect spot. Once this spot has been found you can stop "overdriving" the trumpet and just enjoy the pleasure of not having to bend notes in place. :)
@@arresonance I saw your other video, and I think it's a remarkable demo! I'll check the product out when I get the chance
I’m very convinced that this device will make a noticable difference. But not the difference between a crappy player and a quite good player. If those horns really are professional instruments you really have to put some real effort in making them sound thát bad. Again, these weights will make a difference, as adding any weight will. Soldering weights at many different places is not new. It will definitely do something to the sound and intonation. And experimenting with these with the rubber band solution, Nice idea! But it won’t make a Trumpet player that can’t hit any natural note above low c in tune a good player. On any trumpet or flugelhorn it takes force to play the first g that low unless it’s broken or filthy. This video actually stopped me from ordering one. Any professional player will call this clip exaggerated. But hey… those players aren’t really your market….
I wouldn’t call the players that use the First Aid non professional. I could list quite a few that are more than legendary. Please do NOT buy it, find a shop that has it and try it as explained in my videos. If it doesn’t work I’m more than happy to agree with you. Until then I think you are expressing an opinion without any ground ;)

@@arresonance great, good for you. Doesn’t change a thing about this video being exaggerated, and not adding any credibility. If this trumpetplayer played like this without the first aid, he would have thrown all his trumpets out of the window on the top floor in a very high building, long ago. This video is advertising false hope. And those names, congrats. But none of those players bought this first aid based on this video, because there is not a single pro player in the world that you will convince with this video, which was my point. My comment was based on this video, not on your product, which probably is great. But this is not a fair representation of the effect the first aid will have. Because the before parts are intentionally played much worse than he actually playes. All the best, I’m out,
@@bussc067 this is your opinion and there’s nothing on this earth that will change that. That’s the right attitude! ;)
omg, it sounds like it is recorded with different microphones! The difference is extreme!
Right tool for the job😃😃
AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🎶🎵❤❤
Hello one question. What material is first aid made of by teacher Wayne Bergeron in this video?

2:16
Just saw Chad perform on the new 4 valve flugel with Scott last night. Truly unparalleled artistry and absolutely incredible playing
They are awesome!
Que Maravilha de Sonoridade !!!!
Chek out Alex’s stuff. New album with Chris Potter is killing!
Awesome. No words.
Great Horn!!!👍
Wonderful
Keep calm… and ✨p l a y o n ✨💀💀 love it
What does this video mean? Is Chris Botti using ar resonance product or something?
Yes, check under the first slide :) And check the website for the First Aid
He needs a new waterkey cork to...😂
Proof that getting fat doesnt mean u will get slower)))), bravo maestro🎉🎉
❤❤❤❤ great great playing and great trampet builder. Sounded like 40s st louis blues & armstrong era. Btw what exact model is the mouthpiece ? I guess it has alot to.do with the bright and adgy sound
Antonio!! Brilliant! Will you have some at ITG to try?
Loads!
Another good one Tony! My personal favorite was the Suprema. Somehow for Wayne it looks like Feroce is the one... :)
Saw too many virtuoso trumpeter from morrison, sandoval etc, but he just on another level, so scary, GBU maestro
He even play haydn cello concerto, legend
W O W !!!!!
😮😮😮😮this sound is soooo good
Love that 24k model
Is Sergei AI?
It's great for you to put the disclaimer in there as he clearly plays for Yamaha. Other vendors might take advantage of that and say, "Look, he's thinking of switching!" You put the disclaimer in the notes which is honorable! We know who he plays for. It's just fun to see him play, and especially, see how he checks out other trumpets!
I'm glad there are still people who care about this stuff. I'm so fed up with so many makers (and players) selling their moms for a bit of fake advertisement.
wayne is my favorite trumpet player for sure. great to see this thank you for sharing
Wayne sounds warm and introspective on these horns. It’s a side of his playing that I (for one) am not familiar with.
Glad to see Wayne well.
Duas feras do trompete. Isso é muito bom.
This is an entirely different side of Wayne’s playing I’ve never seen before. Horns aside, that’s my biggest takeaway
Tutte belle ma nessuna di queste si avvicina al suono della sua yamaha
He sounded absolutely lights out on the feroce
When Wayne Bergeron plays a trumpet, the instrument gets a credit for simply being there.
Eastman Trumpets got good publicity. Hello!
He sounds better on his Yamaha horn
He didn’t try a Yamaha in this video under the same conditions. But if he did the Yamaha would most certainly hold its own, and would probably be the best choice for him considering the wide variety of music that he encounters. The Estrema had the sound that I personally liked the best.
@tomchojnowski9215 it's very interesting to observe how pro players shape their sounds with their horns over the years on the kind of repertoire they play every day. I can just close my eyes and just listen. These sweet horns are not for him. Perhaps they can be used on a particular piece or tune from time to time.
Still looks young for being 60
65
That is young!
Wouldn’t say that…
gives him such a round and nice tone, it takes away some of that sizzle that i think he likes but i don't necessarily see it as a bad thing it's just a different quality, great horns
That Romantica! Love!!!
They play extremely well
All of them, for different occasions.
The Fierce has my vote, would've been nice to know if he liked one more than the others. He seemed to try The Extreme a lot.
The Estrema has a defused sound but the sound is huge!! Incredible sound. He sounds great on all of them. The Estrema is my pick but I don’t know if it is flexible enough for the diverse work load that Wayne probably has.
That was great! I can’t pick a favourite out of the horns he played!
